Launch With Windows
Select this if you wish the web server to be run every time windows starts.
Listen Address and Port
The default field should usually work just fine but may however be changed. The port number may be any number between 1 and 65000. Port 80 is the accepted standard port other people will expect when they try to connect to your computer. The IP Address is determined from your computers network cards and or modem. It is the address the rest of the world will see. The most likely time you may need to change this value is if you have more than one network card and the web server is unable to determine which card to route the data through. This would be the case where you have several computers connected in a local network with one acting as the internet server. In this case, if you wish to web server to serve the rest of the world, you must select the address that is bound to the internet.
Behind a Router
Some elements of the web server need to know the address of the machine it's running on. If it's running behind a router this is where you tell it the port that you have mapped and what the router address is.
Use a Domain Name
If you have a domain name associated with your computer, check this box and enter it here.
Enable Logging
As the web server processes events they are displayed in the primary window. They can also be recorded in a more permanent fashion by logging to the hard drive. This has no impact on the performance of the web server but as well, may not be of interest to most users. The default is no logging.
Use Hostname Lookups
Default is unchecked. If event logging is enabled the WebServer will attempt to translate the IP address of the remote host into a fully qualified name. This can have an impact on performance. However the web server caches the result internally for 24 hours to mitigate this.
Server Name
This is the server name the web server reports to a remote users web browser. There is no need to change this option (unless you want to) it is here just for fun!
Statistics Analyzer
This is the default application used for viewing or analyzing the event log. The web server in itself does not perform this feature and defaults to notepad for viewing.
There are many web server event log applications available. Try this it's free!
